Gold Line Extension Shuts First Street
Construction crews building a storm drain at the intersection of Fist and Lorena streets - part of preparation work for the Metro Gold Line Eastside Extension - will shut down First Street traffic intermittently over the next few weeks. Workers will cut off access to First Street at Alameda Street from 8 p.m. until 6 a.m. during the weekends of August 18 and 25. Another closure is scheduled for mid-September. Westbound traffic heading into Downtown will divert to César Chávez Avenue and eastbound traffic heading out will move to Fourth Street.
